Bonnezeaux, Château la Variere, Les Melleresses
Château la Varière is a medieval property whose wine production origins date back to the 15th century. At Chateau la Varière, the products, from the grape to the wine, are the results of a judicious balance between respect for nature and expert technique.
This late harvest wine from the heart of the Anjou vineyards is astounding in its quality. Its golden robe is quite characteristic. With a nose of white flowers, honey and caramel and a rich mouth of fruit, its fine flavour lingers on the palate and has a sweet edge but is by no means really sweet. The complexity derived from the noble rot really adds depth to this luscious and sensuous wine.
It is the ideal partner of blue cheese, goose liver pâté or a fruit tart.
