One of the great Reds from the Loire Valley, Chinon wines generosity have been praised by Francois Rabelais, the great French writer of the XVI th century: "buvez toujours , ne mourrez jamais". The wines bring out the minerals from the Chinon terroir and are produced in one of the prettiest place on earth. Many French kings decided to live there as everything is just perfect: the cool climate, unique gastronomy and plenty of great wine. The Couly family has been contributing to get the best of Chinon wines for generations. This wine is coming from vineyards grouped around the Couly family house of Saint Louans. Clayey and siliceous soil located at the west of Chinon. Harvested at full maturity. Service : around 16°C. Tasting notes: Nice purple hue, intense red berries nose, mouth full of fruit, easy drinking wine with soft tannins. Aging potential : 7 to 10 years. Food pairing : Chinon wine would make any food look like a feast. Fantastic with poultry and pork dishes.
