Saint-Estèphe, Cru Bourgeois, Château Laffite Carcasset
The Château Laffitte Carcasset has been producing wine since 1790 when Sir Joseph Laffitte, attorney of the King of France, bought the domain and created the vineyard. Since then, the vineyard has expanded and many technical improvements have been brought for a good breeding of the wine. Grown on Garonne gravel over a subsoil of clay and limestone, Saint-Estephe is made of 70% Cabernet sauvignon and 30 % Merlot . It is a tannic and full-bodied wine, with intense aromas. It complements red meats particularly well and once it has aged, truffle sauce or furred game meats cooked in a marinade.
